A male voice with a range between than of the tenor and the bass.
The bass-baritone voice lies above the bass and below the baritone.
The bass is the lowest male voice.
The contralto is the lowest female voice.
The countertenor voice is a high male voice usually sung falsetto. In addition to singing parts written for this voice, countertenors frequently sing parts written for castrati.
A female voice with a range between than of the soprano and the contralto. Also known as a "mezzo" for short.
